At Eindhoven Univeristy of Technology, I worked on several wearable technology projects.

Project: Posture-Correcting Wearable
The design of textile sensors for the aestetic integration of posture-correcting technology.

I designed wearables that help maintain good posture by nudging the wearer when they slouch, leading to improved posture. This ultimately boosts confidence and enhances overall well-being.

In this project, there was a strong fucus on the fashionable integration of electronics into the design of the outer garment. I designed textile sensors that decorate the garment and its wearer, while measuring their stance.

Project: Social Skin
A design research project exploring emotional messaging through garments.

Measuring the wearers emotional arousal via HRV and prespiration sensors, the actuators in the garment communicate the wearers inner state through their garments.

Together with Secil Ugur, I created three prototypes: a holster, a necklace, and a brooch, that measure the emotional arousal from the human body and communicate it through movement patterns in the wearables. For example, in of the necklace, when stress is rising, the necklace crawls up toward the wearer’s neck, and affords the wearer to pull it loose again. This interaction helps releave stress.

Several studies were conducted to understand how on-body dynamic garments communicate with the wearers surroundings.
